Yoga and Our Joints - we aren't gumby
Our joints are critical to the structure of our body to
enable movement. Every bend, twist, warrior
and vinyasa is accounted for with the use of our joints.
Many health practitioners recommend yoga for its low impact
quality, and rightfully so. The slow movements
allow us to more thoughtfully organize our distributions of weight, making it
easier on our joints. However, it is
important to be aware of alignment and thoughtfulness in order to maintain a
joint-healthy environment. Try to always
remember in your yoga practice to not lock out your joints. Always provide a little bend and cushion to
keep our practice in our muscles. Keep
our joints happy, keep our bends, twist, warriors and vinyasas happy!
