There's No Crying in Yoga! Or is there?
You’re in your pose, maybe pigeon, maybe camel or even child’s
pose and suddenly, welling up from the deep pit in your stomach are tears. Before you know it you’re choking back emotions,
bawling in the middle of your yoga class.
Believe it or not, this happens all the time!
We can store emotions, memories or past experiences deep in
the cells and tissue of our body. When we
really get into our poses, deep into our body, we can release those pent up
feelings. This phenomenon is often
experienced when we tap into what is referred to as the “subtle-body”- the
pieces of our physical being that aren’t muscles, skin, bone, or tissue but all
the rest instead. Our yoga poses help us
to work out these “blockages” with patience and mindfulness. So let those tear flow!
