Resolutions and Intentions… not so different

Many people use the New Year as an opportunity to start fresh, change habits and create a better lifestyle.  In the beginning of our yoga classes we set an intention for our practice – a positive thought, mantra, song lyric- something that motivates us through our flow.  I don’t see a need for these two things to be different!  Try letting your New Year’s Resolution reflect the positivity and satisfaction that we try to cultivate in our intentions.  Instead of establishing something we shouldn't do or can’t have, determine something we get to do.  For example, instead of eat less sugar; we can decide to eat more vegetables.  Instead of deciding to lose weight we can choose to walk every day.  Work towards creating opportunities for change with actions.  Happy 2014!
